hurricane katrina damagelong overdue repairs, new roof workwe were there, through a church groupto help the people who were neglected due to bureacracy.an incredible experience for all of us.i took this trip a couple of years ago. i went with a friend and some people from her church. we drove for two days, in a van with somegood music, squished people, singing to anything but church music....some of us wore pajamas....we got to know each other very well. we all worked hard , enjoyed working on people's homes, hearing their stories, and loving their spirit. i hope i can do that again....it's true...it's better to give than recieve. and we couldn't help but remember, "there, but for the grace of God, am i." it was hard work, challenging, exhausting and wonderful....and of course, for me, it was a big deal to leave my family for a week.......even with that hard work, i came home with a new perspective .......and i was truly grateful and energiaed.
